Pulp was, and still is, one of the principal bands of the Britpop movement. Since the early 80s, Pulp’s sound has evolved from folksy and acoustic to quintessential Britpop dance tunes to mature Brit-rock. A very early Pulp song, "My Lighthouse" sounds almost nothing like Pulp. Jarvis’ vocals are shaky and almost nervous, and the music is much more acoustic than it would come to be on later Pulp records. This is probably not a favorite track for many fans, but an interesting look at the band’s roots.
