Kartica – New Music I’m Eyeing At The Moment…

Although it’s always nice to whack your favourite album on and sit back and relax, it can be even better discovering a fresh, new band that really catch your ear. New music starts us on a new journey we’ve experienced so many times before with our favourite bands.  There’s a few about who’ve caught my eye, and over my next couple of posts I’m going to share them with you – let me know what you think, and give me some pointers for new bands you’ve got your eyes on I should check out…

New Music Kartica

This band hail from the mighty Sheffield, home of Arctic Monkeys, Pulp and Richard Hawley.  I stumbled across their video for first single ‘Don’t You Think So’ on YouTube and was hooked on first listen! It’s now had almost 60,000 views – each one well and truly deserved!

NME describe the 5 piece band as ‘Rock Solid Sheffield Indie’ and anyone with a soft spot for Bands from the North will no doubt find Kartica slip effortlessly into their music collection!

Front man Mat Hook’s vocals lend themselves to easy listening and his presence on stage (as demonstrated in the Don’t You Think So video) reflects a Liam Gallagher-esque (I bet they’ve heard that before!) ease making the band great to watch.

Follow up single ‘All Yours’ is more mellow – definitely with a few tones of The Verve – but nonetheless still captures the raw essence of British life – check that out on YouTube too.

Let us know what you think to these guys, and as I said – if there’s any new music or bands you think I should be featuring, get me involved or point me in the right direction!

I’ve got a few other bands I want to feature and bring your attention to in future posts – keep an eye out!
