Miles Kane First Of My Kind Is Pretty Darn Good And You Should Listen To It

Miles released this song last April as part of the Record Store Day promotion and it was on repeat for quite awhile in this household. While we don’t give a single shit about “chart placement” it ranked at 65 on the charts at it’s peak. I mean, can we just stop for a moment and think about it. This song was not as “good” as 64 other songs released that week. Lets put this further in perspective; Aerosmith’s I don’t want to miss a thing – released 12 years ago was on the charts that week. Ironic by Alanis Morrissette was at 66 and with or without you by U2 at 43. Charts mean nothing.

This song continues on Miles trajectory towards bringing back his own version of Mod for the 2000’s back. I like the guitar’s and I like the melody. The break at 0:32 is a solid break from the verse which then breaks into a sub verve that leads into a really catch chorus laden with horns. And then what happens at 1:50 with chord change. Beauty. This song is constructed so well and only gives good vibes towards the next album.

Here it is live, tell me which version you prefer.
