The night drew a packed house and rave reviews from punters and publications alike, with London’s Time Out commenting that Star Shaped is “London’s best indie club, proving that there’s still life left in London’s indie scene” and “an explosion of pure, vintage Britpop.”
Star Shaped’s second event is sure to be just as popular, and will feature special guest Sarah Blackwood of Dubstar, who had eight Top 40 singles in the ‘90s. A DJ in her own right, Blackwood will treat punters to an hour’s set at around midnight on March 7th.
Once again, Star Shaped will provide a full night of fun, facilitated (naturally) by a heady Britpop tonic – songs by:
Suede, Blur, Pulp, Elastica, Oasis, Menswe@r, Marion, Gene, Sleeper, Ash, Echobelly, Wannadies, OCS, Mansun, Divine Comedy, Salad, Stone Roses, Boo Radleys, Charlatans, Lush, Longpigs, Bis, Shed Seven, Super Furries, Bluetones, Inspiral Carpets, Kenickie, Supergrass, Manics, Dubstar, My Life Story, Teenage Fanclub, Strangelove, Cardigans, Placebo, McAlmont & Butler, Black Grape, Space, Republica, Garbage, Tiger, These Animal Men, Helen Love, Kula Shaker, Catatonia, Lightning Seeds, 60ft Dolls, Ride, Dodgy, Saint Etienne, Geneva, etc.
Held upstairs at The Garage (Highbury Corner, London) from 10:30pm until 4am every first Saturday of the month, Star Shaped’s next events will take place on 7th March, 4th April, 2nd May, and 6th June.
Due to high demand, Star Shaped strongly encourages guests to get their tickets in advance. At just £4, these tickets are going cheaper than those that will sell at the door. Tickets can be purchased at:
