In twelve days, Kendal Calling 2013 will kick off in the lush fields of Cumbria — Lowther Deer Park, to be exact. Of all the major festivals, this might be on the most outstanding bit of land. The park is a thousand years old and home to the offspring of a herd of deer originally presented to one of the British monarchs. In fact, their website outlines how to respect the pristine beauty of their natural habitat during the festival.
This year’s festival is from 26-28 July. Its line-up is packed with an exciting array of performers including Primal Scream, The Charlatans (as well as a dj set by Tim Burgess), Johnny Marr, and Ash! If you go, you might want to check out the Lightning Seeds‘ acoustic set, British Sea Power, Mystery Jets, the Heartbreaks, and Sons & Lovers.
Some tickets still remain, but they’re close to being sold out (for the eighth consecutive year), so you might want to act fast! Apparently, it’s a great deal!
