Britpop’s Back At Bingley Music Live Festival!

Bingley Music Live have announced their final line up for 2014, and it sounds like a winner. The festival, which is now in its eighth year, is held each August in Bingley’s Myrtle Park. This hidden gem of a festival offers a fantastic range of eclectic musicians, from the legendary to the up-and-coming.

2014 promises to be one of the best years yet. Electronic pop icons, the Pet Shop Boys, headline the festival. The legendary duo of Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe chose Bingley to be their only UK festival appearance during the limited-date UK stint of their Electric World Tour. That alone is worth the price of admission!

But, for all you Britpop fans, Bingley is celebrating the twentieth anniversary of Britpop in style with what is sure to be memorable performances from Yorkshire’s own Shed Seven, former Supergrass frontman Gaz Coombes, and Simon and Oscar from Ocean Colour Scene delivering an intimate acoustic set of some of the band’s greatest hits.

But, the line up isn’t all classics! The festival has booked many rising bands who are sure to become future classics. Guitar bands are represented by the likes of the Strypes, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Eliza and the Bear,  the Dexters, and the Mispers. There are plenty more musicians on the roster, and you can check out the full line up, complete with short bios to whet your appetite, right here.

Bingley Music Live will be happening Friday, August 29 through Sunday, August 31 at Myrtle Park. Tickets are an amazing £49 for all three days, and can be purchased here. Directions and all other burning questions can be answered on the official website.
