Pretty Green

Best Dressed of 2012

Miles Kane

Miles Kane

Miles Kane

His look: 1960s throwback mod, with colorful fitted suits and patterned shirts. It works all too well with his perfectly disheveled hair and skinny physique. He gets major props for embracing the look whole-heartedly without a sense of irony.

Best accessory: A pretty, mod girl on his arm

Noel Gallagher

Noel Gallagher

Noel Gallagher

His look: Unpretentious, well-fitted jeans and polo or buttoned shirt, usually with a killer leather jacket. And always, always amazing shoes. He might not mix it up too much, but it’s a look that says, “I know I’m cool as fuck and I don’t care.”

Best accessory: His trademark scowl

Liam Gallagher

Liam Gallagher

Liam Gallagher

His look: Similar to brother Noel with standards like jeans and polos, but with some dandy touches — most likely thanks to his clothing label Pretty Green. Accessories like Lennon-esque glasses or a polka dot scarf elevate his look to gracefully aging rock legend.

Best accessory: Pretty Green paisley scarf

Tom Meighan (Kasabian)

Kasabian

Kasabian

His look: Hipster rock ‘n roll. With so many insufferable bands on the scene today, musicians’ wardrobes range from the impeccable (see: Miles Kane) to thrift store dumpster diving/American Apparel castoffs (99% of new bands today). Good on Meighan for preserving a modern rock aesthetic with a bit of an attitude.

Best accessory: Lots of black

Alex Turner

Alex Turner

Alex Turner

His look: While not my favorite Turner look by far,  we have to give him credit, like Miles Kane, for fully embracing a look. His “rebel without a cause” teddy boy look is thankfully more Joe Strummer than Grease. And he’s so cute, he can just about pull it off.

Best accessory: Hair gel
