Apollo Festival – York – Saturday 21st June
Not so much a festival as a one day music bonanza, bur nevertheless, this fundraising is an absolute snip at £12 for adults and children under 12 just £1! All proceeds going to the Smiley Riley Fund and with artists already lined up this year such as The Reverend And The Makers, Mark Morriss and Chris Helme, it really is a bargain.
Y Not Festival – Derbyshire – August 1st – 3rd
With the line up each year getting better and better, this year has been no exception. White Lies, Dizzee Rascal, Frank Turner, Razorlight, Fratellis, Newton Faulkner and Shed Seven are all confirmed for this year which make it a very justifiable £84.50 for a weekend camping ticket. Kids under 12 are free.
British Summer Time Festival – Hyde Park – July 4th – 6th / July 12th – 13th
An absolute smorgasbord of bands are appearing at the 5 day music fest that is this years British Summertime Festival. From Motorhead, Black Sabbath, Neil Young & CH and of course the eagerly awaited return of the Libertines to Boyzone, Backstreet Boys and Little Mix. Tickets go on sale at the end of the month and are sold as day tickets only, prices in the region of £70 per day.
Strawberry Fields Festival – Leicestershire – August 8th – 10th
Flying the flag for the Leicestershire festival scene after Summer Sundae called a halt to proceedings, Strawberry Fields have come back with a sterling line-up this year with Reverand And The Makers, The Rifles, Simon and Oscar from Ocean Colour Scene, The Twang and Dodgy. Adult weekend camping is £87.50, 12-15 y/o £45 and under 12’s, £1.
Glastonbudget – May 23rd – 25th
Fancy a bit of pre-festival season fun? Glastonbudget returns with its plethora of tribute bands, plus new bands looking to score some support and recognition. Always good fun come rain or shine! This years confirmed tribute bands include The Bootleg Beatles, Oasish and T-Rexstasy. Weekend camping tickets are £72. Teen camping (13-17) £60, Young person camping (6-12) £37 and 5’s and under, £3.
