Okay, so perhaps the rest of the world doesn’t realize that 2012 was the year of Marion but hear me out. In late 2011, Manchester’s other forgotten Britpop sons announced plans to reunite with the group’s original lineup. Over the years, lead singer Jaime Harding reunited Marion in various incarnations but never with the original lineup. It was quite exciting.
The band started playing gigs in late 2011 and continued their UK tour in 2012. In April, they released the live album Alive In Manchester. It’s been a long, hard road for Marion – especially for Harding who has faced a number of health problems thanks to his heavy drug use during the Britpop years.
